Saturday and Sunday, May 30-31st, 2026 from 10 am to 6 pm at The Sound Journey Store in Beamsville Ontario, Canada

Course Description:

Learn the five elements system of Traditional Chinese Medicine and how it relates to people, health, and sound performances. 

Course Objectives:

• You'll gain a firm understanding of the 5 Element system of understanding (people, organs, phenomena, health, and sound)
• Basic understanding of how to use the 5 Element system in your sound work and with your clients
• Understand how to think and express ideas in the 5 Element system so that they make sense in your application

Who Can Take This Course?

This course is open to both the general public and to students of Rooted in Sound Academy Canada. 

Number of Credit Hours for Rooted in Sound Academy Students:

This course is worth 16 hours of electives towards Rooted in Sound Academy elective hours. If you take this course and then decide to join Rooted in Sound Academy at a later date, you will be credited these hours.

Please note that the class is subject to cancellation if minimum enrolment (5 participants) is not met.

Meet your Instructor

Christopher Cole

Christopher has practiced Traditional Chinese Medicine in Grimsby since 2006 and has been a certified Medical Qigong practitioner for over ten years. As well as treating patients he teaches Qigong and meditation, and offers private and public gong meditations in the Hamilton-Niagara region. His performances are informed by 50+ years of listening to music and playing instruments and caring for others. He has taught Traditional Chinese Medicine approaches to sound work through the Institute of Traditional Medicine in Toronto as well as serving many years as a clinic supervisor and instructor.

Participants are welcome to make purchases at the Sound Journey Store before or after training.  If you would like a private consultation, we suggest you book the day before or after class to accommodate for more time.
