Easy Way to clean and polish a Nickel Silver Gong

Easy Way to clean and polish a Nickel Silver Gong

There is a special way to clean your nickel silver gong and today we have our good friend Ken Little from Resonant transitions helping us learn how to clean a Meinl gong.

This gong was hanging in our showroom and someone touched it with their bare hands, leaving both finger prints and some corrosion. How do you know if you have a nickel silver gong? Nickel silver gongs made from thin sheet metal and frequently have a very shiny finish. They mark up easily from finger prints or water. Common makers include Paiste, Meinl, Border Oetken, Martin Blaise just to name a few. If you have a Chinese gong, it is not to be cleaned this way. Chinese gongs are made from bronze.
